Track Day

Today was Track Day for Parker's school! The entire school was bussed to one of the high schools here in town and they spent the whole day having fun! Kindergarten thru 2nd grade participated in field events in the morning and then track events in the afternoon. In between, we ate lunch in the football stadium! It was fun to watch all of the kids but even better seeing all of the parents who spent the day with their children...cheering them on! As you can tell by one of the pictures Parker received 2 1st place ribbons, 1 third place ribbon and 1 fourth place ribbon for his running races!!! What I liked the most is that once a child received a 1st place ribbon they were then grouped with other 1st place ribbon winners in the next race. This provided an opportunity for everyone to get at least one 1st place ribbon!!! Great job on the part of the PE teacher!!!! All in all, it was a great day had by everyone! Now....Cooper is super excited to be able to participate in Track Day next year as a kindergartner!

Flo

Flo from the Progressive commercials is a star in our house! She gives us all a laugh when we watch her on TV! The boys think she is pretty cool so Rob took their picture with her! A life-size cardboard cutout of her anyway!!

Uncle Jason

We had company this past week! The boys refer to him as "Uncle Jason" but he is actually the boys Godfather and he is Rob's best friend. He lives in California but came to visit us before he headed up to Billings to visit his family! It was a quick but fun visit. We played Guitar Hero, watched movies, and he got to see one of Cooper's soccer games. Take a look at the pictures....I wouldn't refer to this as a highlight but I am sure Jason would. He loved watching all of us eat Rocky Mountain Oysters. Mind you...the boys have no idea what they were eating and I do not plan on telling them any time soon. It was a 1st for me as well. I have happily lived my life without trying those things but when the whole table is chanting...."try it mom"....I had to do it. Gag reflex and all....I choked it down! Fun times had by all!!!

Phew!!

Today was a whirlwind once 3:00pm hit! Parker was supposed to have PE Club after school today but....his soccer cleats arrived! So off to the sporting goods store to try them on to make sure they fit. Can you believe he is in a size 4 cleat?! Oh my goodness! He is growing by leaps and bounds. Parker was none to happy that I made him miss PE Club but we needed to get his cleats because he had a soccer game at 5:45pm. Although, before we could make it to his soccer game we had to make an appearance at his basketball practice. So Bball practice from 4:30pm to 5:05pm....change out of court shoes and socks and in to shin guards, soccer socks and cleats! Off to the soccer complex and we were there by 5:25pm. Just in time to get a little practice in with his coach and then the game started. Since I always have hungry boys I filled a bag with snacks. Applesauce, yogurt, string cheese, fruit snacks, and a few chips. Parker was so hungry on the way to his soccer game he was eating what he could and I had to stop him because he was going to get a tummy ache. We watched a great soccer game and Parker scored the only goal for his team! He was super excited about that! But boy was he tired. The fields are bigger with this age group and he was dead tired. He even mentioned that his legs hurt from all of the running. Poor kid! I also realized that one water bottle isn't gonna cut it. He finished off almost 2 bottles during his game. So to end the day we made it home around 7:10pm. Ate again and off to bed. Can you imagine....this was just for Parker. Cooper starts his soccer games on Thursday! Keeping up with both boys is a challenge but well worth it!!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all! Today is a wonderful day! The Easter Bunny visited us and hid lots of eggs around the house. Plus....filled the boys Easter baskets full of candy. That is what the Easter bunny is supposed to do right?! As fun as it is to see the excitement within the boys it is also a sad day for me as well. With it being the 1st holiday without my dad is makes it difficult to be as happy as I should be. But....I have many happy memories of Easters with my dad and he is looking down upon us now smiling. We took many pictures over the last few days and I will put a few together and update the slide below soon!

April Fool's

I was so proud of myself today because I pulled off a couple of fun April Fool's pranks. Both of which were geared toward the boys! First, I short sheeted Parker's bed and then I placed a whole bunch of plastic army people in Cooper's pillowcase and covered his pillow with his blankie! Too funny!!! I was laughing so hard as Cooper laid his head down on his pillow and the look on his face was priceless. Then watching Parker jump into bed as he always does and realize...hey, my legs can't straighten out!! Mission accomplished....I got both of them!!! Parker thought it was hilarious but Cooper didn't think it was as funny! All in all, it was a good time had by everyone! Just think of the endless possibilities I have now as the boys get older?!?! Honey and Saran Wrap on the toilet seat.....taped down water nozzles.....shaving cream....oh I can hardly wait!!!

Edible Book Fest

Today was the deadline! Parker submitted his entry into the Edible Book Fest at school. The object was to create an edible item depicting your favorite book. What a terrific idea! Parker's favorite book right now is one of the Magic Tree House books titled Stage Fright on a Summer Night! So....he came up with the whole idea! I was very impressed with his creative thoughts. Honestly, my first thought was....how in the world are we going to build a stage depicting a Shakespearean play?!?!? But....Parker was the brain behind it all and the rest of us only helped in a few ways. It was a fun task that all of us enjoyed! And...the icing on the cake was that the entire school voted on all of the entries and Parker was awarded 1st place as you can tell from the picture! He was totally thrilled and I was so proud of him. Now Cooper can't wait until Kindergarten so he can make something from his favorite book....Funny Bunny!!
