Election Day

Goodness sakes....I am so happy to see this day come....and equally happy to see this day pass. I am not a political person at all. I have my views and beliefs just as anyone else. Although...I don't always seem to think it is a "cut and dry" situation. One side cannot have "all" of the "right" answers. Honestly, I think you need both sides/views working together in order to make it successful. Nothing in life is ever just one sided. But, at any rate, this day went down in history just as any other Presidential election. My boys were slightly interested in it. We have talked about it at home off and on for many months. They watched with me briefly this evening yet it didn't hold their interest long given that it is something they cannot possibly grasp the concept of completely at this age. I must say, I was impressed with how school involved the kids with the importance of the voting process. Parker was actually able to vote at school and Cooper was able to vote at pre-school. According to Parker he voted for McCain. And Cooper voted for the "guy with dark hair just like his"!! I guess I have a split household!

Happy Halloween

We had so much fun this Halloween! The weather was perfect, lots of kids, lots of candy and a visit from Grandma Moore! Parker was a hippie and Cooper was Boba Fett from Star Wars. We don't have many kids in our neighborhood nor many houses that actually participate in Halloween. So...we went over to our friends neighborhood just across the way and trick or treated with them. I have never seen so many kids out for Halloween! It was so fun to see all of the different costumes.

Shirts -vs- Skins

I was laughing so hard last night my tummy hurt!!! As you can tell from the picture, Cooper experienced his 1st shirts vs skins game during basketball practice last night. His team is all boys ages 5 and 6 years old. So when the coach asked three of them to be "skins" the look on those 3 boys faces was priceless. Obviously, none of them had played "skins" before and they were all quite embarrassed at first. I was tickled inside by their innocence. But, once they realized it was no big deal and started playing the game....their worries were erased.

Happy Friday

Every Friday in Parker's class they get to choose a fun class theme to participate in if you return your "Just Read" slip to school. The "Just Read" program is a required reading program where the students need to read at least 15 minutes every day for a whole week and record their time and books. Last week his class had a junk food day on Friday and today he is having Wacky Day. As you can see....he chose a simple wacky look! Pretty cute if you ask me!

Also...today Cooper is turning in another group of 5 green slips at pre-school. He has chosen many things out of the prize box and today he chose some funky goggles!!! Again....way to cute!

Soccer and Football

Soccer and Football are coming to an end for both boys! Next weekend is the last weekend of games. No worries though...the end of one sport means the beginning of another. A week after soccer and football ends...basketball for both boys begins! So we move from lawn chairs and cool weather to indoor bleachers and warmth!! No complaining from me though! I absolutely love watching them play sports. Below you will find a couple videos of the boys! Bear with me...I just started to play with the video funtion and as you can tell...I need to refine my skills just a tad. I promise by basketball season I will have better videos. Until then please enjoy these!!

Parker is very agile and aware of his presence on the soccer field. Always planning a move. You can tell by how he is looking around to see where everyone is positioned. Cooper on the other hand....he definately knows how to use his speed!!

Fun in the Sun

Parker had last Thursday and Friday off from school. So on Friday afternoon we decided to head to the park. It was a beautiful day....mid 70's....and there was no one at the park. We had it all to ourselves. I love watching my boys play at the park. The carefree..no care in the world..approach to everything. Swinging as high as you can go....sliding down the slide as fast as you can...making it across the monkey bars all by yourself! My boys are best friends! Don't get me wrong...they can fight like boys too....but for the most part they are best buds. I hope as the years pass they remain as close as they are now.

I've Been Tagged!

It's who I am......

I am... Jennifer, Jen, Mom etc....
I Want.... to lose weight
I Have.... a wonderful life.
I Wish..... upon stars when I see the first one every night. Star light Star bright, First star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight!
I Hate... losing my patience
I Fear... that I "what if" to much.... I always wonder how my decisions will affect others
I Hear.... I'm hungry from my boys constantly
I Always... talk to Rob at least twice a day while he is working
I Usually... have a glass of choc. milk before bed
I Am Not... a good housekeeper...cleaning happens only after I have played with my boys!
I miss... my family!
I love... hearing my boys laugh!
I Never.... answer the phone on the 1st ring...crazy I know
I Rarely... take time for myself
I Cry... on the 1st and last days of school. There is no way of stopping the tears when I am reminded of how quickly my boys are growing up.
I am Not Always... quiet during my boys soccer and football games. I cheer loudly!!
I Lose... my patience when my children don't listen
I'm Confused... as to why I see tip jars all around anymore. Don't we all wish we were tipped for every little thing we did?!
I Need...to remind myself to enjoy every moment...never take anything for granted...it is easy to get caught up in a busy day and forget to find simple pleasure in the small things.
I Should... tell my husband how much I appreciate him more often.
I Dream...every night!

I tag.. Jessica
